About This Spot

Stepping into Salak Phet Seafood & Resort feels like discovering a hidden corner where the rhythm of the sea sets the pace for the day. Nestled along a quiet pier that stretches gently into the turquoise waters of Koh Chang Tai, this place invites you to slow down and breathe in the salt-tinged air. The mood here is unhurried and intimate, with the soft lapping of waves beneath your feet and boats bobbing nearby, hinting at the freshness that finds its way straight from ocean to table.

The layout blends the comfort of a homestay and resort with the warmth of a beloved local seafood restaurant. Seating thoughtfully arranged over the water offers quiet moments of reflection or shared joy as the sun moves slowly across the sky. The views extend toward distant islands, adding a sense of calm that perfectly complements the experience of a meal or a peaceful stay.

At Salak Phet, the kitchen honors the sea through a vibrant mosaic of flavors and textures. Whether it’s the delicate sweetness of sashimi caught fresh that morning or the lively kick of fiery, spiced dishes that celebrate local ingredients, each bite tells a story of the region’s bountiful waters. Enjoying fried prawns with tamarind, savoring grilled squid paired with a tangy dip, or watching the steam rise gently from a crab dish brings you closer to the character of Koh Chang’s culinary heritage.

This is more than a spot for dining; it’s a gateway to a rhythm where days drift gently between good food, quiet water activities like kayaking or fishing, and the friendly presence of hosts who know the tides and seasons by heart. There’s a grounded generosity here — a place to recharge quietly, with genuine warmth and a natural ease that makes every visit feel like a small, cherished discovery.

The place was interesting to visit, as it is located right next to and out into the sea. There were piers over a large area, with boats moored, and with live fish in nerds ready to be served. The place is both a restaurant, known for its quality, and a resort for accommodation. We only had drinks this time, so I can't comment on the food or accommodation. There is plenty of parking at the entrance to the place.

Absolutely delicious food and awesome setting The best tasting seafood dishes by far on Koh Chang

The seating is right over the water with great view to the islands. The food selection is huge, full of fresh fish and different seafood. Be careful the food is really very very spicy

I’ve stayed here twice and really enjoyed it. The price starts from THB 500 including breakfast (no water heater). You can fish and go squid fishing, just remember to check the tides and seasons. The owner P’Aum and the captain P’Champ are very kind and helpful. A great place if you want a quiet and relaxing stay!

There is a resort and restaurant here. Nice place to stay and eat. Can use kayaks free. Friendly and helpful staff.

We were recommend by the staff to have the deep fried snapper with three flavoured sauces, it was delicious, pretty spicy for us but still very good. Beautiful setting and very relaxing. Would love to be staying in the villas here.

Overpriced (but in range of Koh Chang price standard),but delicious Thai seafood restaurant. The food itself are delicious as they're packed with multiple flavors in each food, and their ingredients are pretty fresh because the food source (seafood) is right next to the restaurant in fish cages that you can simply walk to while waiting for your food I'd recommend squid, shrimps, sea bass, and spotted grouper (if you're rich) menu. They did a good job at turning these seafood into pretty delicious meals, but the price is kinda expensive as it's located on Koh Chang (Chang island), which are generally expensive by itself plus this place is also a resort which also generally charge more for food. The atmosphere is the best part of this restaurant, as it is located right next to the sea, and contains multiple fish cages you can simply visit, and observed groupers fish from above. Overall, I would recommend those with a decent amount of money looking for a decent meal on this island.

Definitely worth drive for some of the best and freshest seafood on the island. Personally the scallops on the appetizer menu was the best. Coral grouper sashimi was hella good. Really fresh and clean tasting.
